in the name of fashion

I wear a boot. Just the one. It is my new fashion statement. I think it is going to become the next big thing. Big being the operative word. Grey is the new black.

The boot has been mistaken for a moon boot, a ski boot, a wine cooler, a pot plant, and I have been called, "robocop." A new one for this morning has been, "wow you move fast for a one legged woman!" Clearly a pick up tool too. This is all in less than 24 hours. I own it. So I can do anything I want with it.

I have never shared this secret before, as some secrets should be kept; I am a pool shark. Not the swimming kind of pool, but the green table, balls, and cue kind of pool. I played as a little person. I was trained to play with both hands. This of course won me the table on many occasions. I was never left without a partner to play with, I was everyones friend around a pool table. I don't think the boot can help in that situation, but I am sure I could use it as a weakness and a sympathy tool to allow me to play for a table. I could always play soccer again. I am a left footer, but I can also kick with both feet. Bit of a soccer shark too, well I was back in the day. I however was the goalie, so maybe not that great. Although we rarely lost a game. And I think I could kick the ball pretty far with this boot.

Besides busting out some Michael Jackson moon walking moves, and pretending I am robocop, there must be more uses for my boot. I have 6-8 weeks to play in it. What would you use it for?

*stress fracture in 3 metatarsal bones in my foot from running with no shoes in the soft sand. idiot! But sucking it up and deep sea running with my new runners belt which just arrived. Double idiot!

  3. you wear a belt that keeps you upright and you do the whole running action in the water... maybe I should do a video of me... as that would surely make everyone laugh!

  4. Oooweeee. I have been thinking about adding soft sand running to my routine. What do you suggest? Run with shoes on? Don't they just fill with sand?

  5. yes katie... wear shoes! I just bought some barefoot running shoes, with a bit of arch support. So when I am ready to run again, I have them, and hopefully I will do no more damage to my feet. I was silly though, and was running everyday... you should have one rest day in between. Obsession! x

  11. Get better soon! When David Beckham broke his metatarsal before an important tournament (I forget which) it was massive news in the UK. It certainly educated the population as to what and where metatarsals are.
