To persian, or not to persian? That is the question I put to you.
What do you think of a persian rug in my space? I really need a rug for the lounge room. The carpet is a little bit worn and it would be nice to save it from more wear. I have a modern space. Quite white, and want to add a wow factor. Persian rugs were always in my home growing up. My mum had a thing for them. I never really thought of them much, but now I need a rug and the persian is on my mind.
I went looking last week. That is the same day I gave my car the pedicure. I was just leaving. I am not sure if this is a sign, or more a sign of my tiredness on that day. There will be eventually a new couch. It will be charcoal, but that will come after the rug. I am thinking red in the persian.
So do I persian?
Go the Persian- they are beautiful, storytelling things and last a lifetime. Even if your place is fresh, white and modern a Persian will still suit. Good luck on the hunt. PS. Today is my first official day of wearing my Saltwaters, it's 28degrees here in Melbourne!
ReplyDeleteI love a beautiful persian rug - I think they're elegantly bohemian.
ReplyDeleteAnd I understand it can be a wee bit disturbing when you hit 'real' adulthood and start adopting your parents' taste (?). Don't let that deter you. :)
OOH Yes i say do the persian for sure! I'm a fan of them - except some are too exxy for me, but one day when i can afford one, i will get one! Do it if you can :)
ReplyDeleteI think it would look lovely!
ReplyDeleteJgee has it wrapped up perfectly. Right down to the saltwater comment!
ReplyDeletePersians are fantastic! I have had one for ten years now and wherever we have moved it's jazzed up the space. We have pretty modern stuff too, but somehow it still works. They are like a classic handbag for your room! Goes with everything
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
ReplyDeleteA big yes from me! Have a look at the rugs at Loom - to die for! I am thinking one of the overdyed vintage for your space? I'm often drooling over their site, thanks for the excuse to go window shopping again ;)
ReplyDeleteI've never had a persian rug...it would not hold up with my kids. :) But, I think it would be beautiful in your home. Hope that you are well dear friend. xoxo, Kristi
ReplyDeleteI would love a Persian if I could find the right Persian. Go the Persian! You'll have it for a lifetime.
ReplyDeletei have two, and love them. i love the look, it always gives an aura of interest, intellect and beauty.
ReplyDeleteYes, go for it. Persian Rugs are so beautiful and we always had them in our home growing up too. Then when hubby and I bought our first house, we invested in one of our own too. I think they look awesome when in a contemporary area too and look better as they get older and more worn and well-loved.
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned above, you should definitely check out Loom too... they have such amazing unique pieces.
We also just bought a new Nicola Cerini rug for the lounge/play room.
Have a fab wkend.. x
All this rug shopping talk is very tempting ... I'm now stuck on the Nicola Cerini website too, very nice!
