spring cleansing :: day 3

Today is day 3 of my cleanse and I can say I am feeling a lot better then yesterday. For me day 2 was the hardest. The coffee withdrawals was painful. My head throbbed the whole day, but I am proud to say I did not take any panadol, I sucked it up and I made it. I am sure from today I will feel awesome.

I am doing this cleanse to teach myself about eating a bit better. I didn't eat bad, it was more my eating habits. The easy cooking lead to cooking myself the same meal almost every night of the week. Actually I ate it for 8 days straight. I am learning a few new ideas when it comes to dinners and lunches. I am loving using nuts in my food and even raisins.

The snacks I have been having are lots of nuts and a bit of dried fruit. My favourite would have to be the date balls I made. I did try to make a date log, but it looked like one huge poo rolled in coconut, so I quickly changed it to balls. The best thing is Taj loves them too. The bad thing is I need to buy more dates as we ate the whole packet yesterday!

That would have to be the hardest part for me, the hunger I feel. I cannot believe how hungry I am. My usual day would consist of my lovely fluffy white toast and two coffees. This would last me until about 2 in the afternoon and then I would either have another coffee, usually decaf, or I would grab a piece of fruit until dinner. I would eat my favourite chicken salad for dinner and I was finished eating for the day. In between I would have a few herbal teas, my favourite licorice tea. Now I feel like I need to eat all the time.

I am going to look like a nut covered in dry fruit and bits of salad and veges sticking out of me when I have completed this cleanse. I considered going for another week, but I think I will wait until the 7 days is up and decide. For now I am loving my spring cleansing.

This weekend, no waffle date, but I do have my sunday date, Anna, who has agreed to eat like a cleansing girl! I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

  5. Yay for you! I'm so impressed. I totally lack the discipline to make it through a cleanse like this. Which is probably exactly why I should do one!!

    I would love to have your recipe for date balls if I might?
