keely in junior gaultier

Keely modeled for a magazine from Singapore called Club21. She modeled a Junior Gaultier dress. They were looking for a Dakota Fanning look a like. Little Keely rocked this photo shoot. Some may not like the final image. You might think it is photoshopped too much. I personally love it. I think the photographer did an awesome job, and my little girl looks divine.

I am so happy to finally be able to show you these images.

Keely is so chuffed to see her face in the magazine and she would love the dress too. So Gaultier if you are reading my blog, this little girl would love your dress.

the voice

You know there comes a time in your life when someone comes over and pees on your pole. Your space. You are quite happy with your life. There are some ups and downs. But everybody has ups and downs. We all have our hard times. Our really horrible news in our families. We all have awesome times too. And there is unfortunately that person, or sometimes people who like to come and have a little spray with their pee and mark a bit of negativity into your day.

This is for you.... and for all of those cats out there trying to mark their territory, and to ruin someone else's day. Find your own pole, and if you come back, only come back with a positive attitude, and something nice to say.

Have an awesome weekend! Forget about the cats, and love who you are. Listen to this amazing voice....

thanks Lexi for showing me the perfect song!

cooked eggs

Don't you love it when your little people do things that has you in fits of laughter. Those times when you could go either way. You could quite easily breakdown in tears, but instead you cannot control your giggling. Yesterday I had that moment with Taj in the middle of our supermarket, Woolworths.

We had just gone and got some eggs and were walking up the pasta isle. Taj stopped and was looking at the tins of tuna. He was the one carrying the basket, well more like dragging it. But there was no other way of doing shopping. He hates the trolley and loves to be part of the whole shopping experience, right down to the self service scanning registers.

I turned away for a moment, a little moment and when I turned back Taj was squatting next to the basket with his back to me. He was quiet, and that in itself was a sign he was up to no good. I peeked over the top of him to find he had placed all the eggs on the ground. Looking up at me he said, "mummy crack. Cooking. Cook!"

I tried so hard not to laugh in his face, but could not hold on. It was hilarious. Even the lady who worked there came up and had a giggle. I offered to pay for the eggs Taj had cooked with on the floor, but the lady said it was fine.

Keely and I spoke to Taj about eggs and how you have to be very gentle when holding them. I love it. "mummy crack. Cooking. Cook!"

maeve magazine is summer

Tomorrow Maeve magazine is out. It is their summer issue and it is going to be awesome. I am completely chuffed with this mag, and I cannot wait to sit with my tea and have a read. There are a bunch of inspirational people contributing.

I am really proud to say I am in there. It is a place where you can be totally you. Feel safe to write about the things in your life that are more naked and real. There is happiness, there is sadness, and the best part is there is support.

Thank you Lou and Kate. You are both truly beautiful. You have given many writers a voice.

Go and subscribe and tomorrow you will see the magazine link pop up in your inbox.

The image above is all about summer. Don't you just love watermelon to quench your thirst..... what is the deal with the weather today? Come on Sydney!

modeling with fun

We love playing shop. Keely especially loves trying on all the new clothes and giving them her tick of approval. There was a lot of ticking on monday when we shot the new Polka and Three Little Trees.

Here are the out-takes of an afternoon that was full of more laughter than modeling. The way it should be.

does it spin was the question

rock on and giddy-up

So I have this thing. Every now and then I come up with a saying. This can be a one liner, one word, or just something I have randomly come up with. The crazy thing is, I think I am funny. It is like my own running joke. I am sure I am the only one laughing. But I must admit if it is making this mummy laugh everyday, than it cannot be that bad; can it?

"rock on with your bad self"

{for the record, I am laughing}

Where did it start? This one came from my saying "rock on" that I have been running with for the past few months. This is just a new and longer version. Not sure how long it will last, or when I will get sick of saying it. At the moment I am loving it. I am laughing. The little ones are laughing and I am running with it.

So have a rockin' day, giddy-up melbourne, and rain rain go away come again at the end of summer, (except for the farmers).

did you trick or treat halloween

For the first time I wished my neighborhood was into halloween. I really wanted to hang out with the little people in the street and have an afternoon full of treating. I am not usually into halloween. It is not really a big deal in australia.

With Keely having her halloween day at pre school on friday I got all excited and had great memories of myself trick or treating. I remember our whole street was involved in halloween, and it was a great late afternoon spent with your friends in the street. Come to think of it that is what we always did. We hung out together every afternoon after school, on our roller skates. Think Xanadu.

I am sure one year we will get right into it. For now we will dress up.

Did you celebrate halloween? If so what did you or your little people dress up as?
