the fruit bowl

This weekend there will be no fruit bowl. The washing can stay on the balcony. I can be home the whole day if I choose to be.

There is time to cool off, and I am not talking the winter weather, or diving into the icy water. Next week I just might be slapping a sold sticker on the For Sale sign.

Apparently I say 'rock on' a lot; my real estate agent looked at me after signing the contract of sale, and said, "rock on Hayley!"

A new chapter begins.

Anyone for a piece of fruit?

simplicity is confidence

There is a lot happening right now. There is some awesome, and there is some sad. I need to take some time and enjoy the simple things around me. I am sure I won't take a break, but I believe my blog posts will be with little substance. There might be days of just an image, or there might be days with nothing.

The simple things are what make me happy. Simple monday afternoons with my beautiful girl; a waffle together, coffee for me, and reading the new books from the library in our favourite space away from home. This is our thing we do on a monday.

Girls rock!

another life to read

Last night I switched off the computer, curled up with a herbal tea, and my new book, which had been collecting dust. I had forgotten how to read. How to relax, and to just be.

There is a lot of decisions for me to make in the next few weeks, and I am having trouble deciding. There are a lot of people giving their advice on what I should and shouldn't do. Ultimately it is my decision, and I have to make this decision for myself and for my little people. It is hard.

I am very grateful for the advice rolling in. {I am not too sure if it is helping me or making me more confused}! But I am very lucky to have people in my life that care, and want to see the best for my future with my little people.

Big life decisions are hard. Reading a book, and diving into someone else's life is easier.

What are you reading?

bloggers rock the stripes

Rocking the stripes for stripe mania!

You can read all about the stripes and what the mania is all about over at Holly's blog Decor8.

Not sure if the rules include little people, but how could I not include my little ones? They may not write my blog posts, but they are part of the heart that make up every aspect of Little Pinwheel. And let's be honest, it would not be a cool photo without them rocking their stripes too.

catnapping

This weekend is going to be full on; first open house, catnapping, spending time with an amazing man that is fighting, and running to get rid of all of the stuff and things.

I am going to soak up the joy from my little people. They heal you and comfort you more than you could ever realise. We have cats to look after. And that joy alone is going to take the pain away.

Beautiful little people.

Enjoy your weekend! x

thank you kidspot

I had the drive. Some of you had it too, but most of you didn't. Thank you for all your comments, emails, and tweets for the Kidspot Top 50 Bloggers competition to win a new Ford Territory for a year, and $5000. I did not make it into the top 5. However I truly believe that the conversation I sparked was worth more than a car and some cash. To talk about things that happen to us after having children, or being pregnant, or any issue that may arise whilst we are parents is something we should continue to do. Parenthood can get a little lonely at times, and we feel a little isolated in our feelings and thoughts. When you open up, you soon realise that we all have had similar experiences, or feel the same in some, or all aspects of parenting.

We may not have a new car, but Taj has decided that he wants to bring this one home. He hopped off, ok more he was ripped off the car, kicking and screaming.

Thank you for your support, and when you get a chance go and meet the awesome top 5 bloggers! They have some blog challenges to face over the next few weeks. This will be fun!

a rainbow of dignity

Late this afternoon I went and saw someone that I love. This someone has dignity. (And when I say dignity, I mean it to the extent I have never seen it). This someone is my first father figure; you daddy.

He is sick.

Taj gave someone he loves a painting of a rainbow; his grand-dad.

Today my daughter showed me that she understood; Keely showed me she understands the depth of love, and life.

Now I need to show my little people that depth of love.
