Tiny Mammoth for the Girls!

I have been so busy the last week or so and have not kept up with my photo for a day for August. I like a challenge and usually I do see them through, but this time I was unable to with lots of new stock coming and a sick baby. I guess sometimes you just do what you can do when you are a mum! I thought I would share these great shots of Keely wearing Tiny Mammoth, just to show mum's out there that it is not only cool for the boys, but it is also very cool and fun for the girls!

the divine heavenly creatures

This gorgeous range of alice in wonderland inspired designs is in store now from Heavenly Creatures. I love this range as to me it is like dressing your little girl in dress ups with her still looking stylish while she shops with you, plays at the park or celebrates parties with her friends. Enjoy seeing your little ones imagination come alive.

rittenhouse style

I received another part of my Rittenhouse order today and it is divine! Seriously this label is so fashionable and the best part is that it is made here in Australia. The fabrics are beautiful, with soft cotton while still being durable enough to have a play at the park. Rittenhouse is for your styling little one! My little people had so much fun playing models and testing their new threads!

styling polka baby

We did some quick snap shots of the baby Polka range. Unfortunately the husband's flash stopped working and we had to do with no flash. I still think they are great and a lot of fun. We were loosing light quickly! Lots more baby range in store including little girls, but I didn't think it would be good to dress my boy in the girls clothes! Would be fun 21st photos though and I know Keely would love to see her brother dressed as a girl!

Polka Fashion

The new Polka range started to arrive yesterday and this morning we did some styling shots for the website. This is just a little of what we received and there is more to come this month and September. This range is all about comfort and keeping cool this summer with the use of bamboo.

Off to see the Winter range now for 2010!

Bubbles!

One of the many fun moments Keely had with her lovely cousins, Dakota and Morgan when she was down the South Coast last week. This is one of the images from a series my husband took. This is the one just after Dakota decided that it would be fun to put bubbles in her little brother's eyes and this was Morgan's reaction. I am not sure if she realises that one day Morgan will be bigger, not older, but bigger and that is when he will get his revenge!

the mad hatter

Alice had had enough of chasing rabbits down holes. What she needed was a nice cup of tea, a comfy chair and a few of her favourite friends.

Of course they will all be invited to her tea party, which is bound to be a little mad - the hatter will be there after all.

Everyone will look dreamy in stripes, smocked frocks, florals, ruffles, dots and so much more.

Alice can hardly wait.....

Time for a tea party and some rabbit hunting as Heavenly Creatures is arriving this week on Little Pinwheel. A gorgeous range of beautiful clothes for your little girl.

no words!

Ok, maybe I need to say some words... I am not pushing weight issues on my daughter! She has her whole life as a female to conquer those weight problems we all seem to have no matter what shape or size we are. Honestly I think this image is adorable and funny how she is eating and weighing herself at the same time. It is one of those priceless moments that we managed to capture on camera.

my girl in mill and mia

My beautiful little Keely came home with my lovely husband last night! I am a very happy mummy today and I have loved showing Keely all of her new clothes that arrived yesterday. She was quick to model them for me and they are divine! Mill and Mia is so beautiful and such great quality. I let her wear the Kaleidoscope skirt to school with the ruffle tee!

miss you poppet!

My lovely little Keely is on an adventure with her dad visiting her cousins and this photo shows so much of her cheeky personality I miss. First time apart, so very hard on mummy, but she tells me over and over again that she loves me on the phone, so adorable! My little rock and bundle of joy, my poppy!

the chair under the green tree

I thought today it would be nice to show you some more photos that my amazing husband photographed. He is away at the moment on assignment shooting 3 beautiful architectural designed houses down the South Coast of NSW. I am sure he will let me share them on my blog at some stage in the near future. For now enjoy this divine house in Wamberal on the Central Coast, NSW.

I am personally in love with the interiors, the owner, Jenny, has some serious style. I just want to curl up on the green chair with a good book under the tree!

My husband photographed this beautiful photograph on the wall of Jenny's local beach and it was made as the feature of the room. He went back up to Wamberal to see it all come together and photograph it along with this cute children's table and chairs for Jenny's grandchildren!

blossoms are blooming

Friday was the start of the beautiful summer stock that will be arriving over the coming weeks. I received my first half of Rittenhouse and it is divine. For those of you who do not know about Rittenhouse it is the the brand that combines sophisticated graphics, beautiful fabrics and it also has a strong focus on quality Australian manufacturing. Rittenhouse sits somewhere between 'boutique' and 'street' and appeals to a customer who appreciates fine quality and is not trend-driven. To me it really is for the fashion conscious mum, but still a label that you can have your little one wear to the park. The creators of Rittenhouse, Sally McDonald and Micah Hamdorf use 'playful' as one of their recurring themes, which sits nicely with what I believe Little Pinwheel is all about and that is 'for playful and free spirited little people.'

Yesterday I did a new front page image for the website, to mark the start of Spring at Little Pinwheel. I know a month early, but in the fashion industry we are early! I used all my husband's fantastic equipment to come up with a shot I had in my head. I used my creative background in Graphic Design and my love of art to come up with a fun and playful image to launch Rittenhouse into Little Pinwheel. It was fun putting all the elements together to create a look that I feel reflects what Rittenhouse is all about.

Keely had a great time and loved imagining there was a butterfly on the end of her finger! We also came up with many other shots and these will be used in an advertisement I am designing for the new issue of LMNOP magazine.

boomerang beach

'Nellies' is the most divine house! We had this beautiful beach holiday last August when I was very pregnant with my son Taj.

The images speak for themselves... enjoy lots of images for 'a photo a day.'

a photo a day

I have been inspired by the lovely Little Bubble to do a photo a day on my blog for the month of August. Somedays there will be a post along with the image and other days there will just be an image, which I am hoping will tell a story in itself. I think this is going to be fun and a challenge for me to remember to do it each day! I have missed a couple of days, so I will try to make up for it with two posts today!

I will also try and have the images reflect me, my family, friends and my life really. Something inspirational that shows the mum behind Little Pinwheel. I may even write a bit about what I do each day to balance my life with Little Pinwheel, being a mummy, a wife and a friend. I hope it will be interesting and a bit of fun!

The first images I have chosen are images of where I live. I have chosen them as I am into the swing of things with organising my Summer stock that is arriving next week! Yay! It also shows how lovely Summer is for my children as this is a place we go every day in the Summer.

Sunday, August 2, 2009

My girlfriend, Trudie and I hosted a high tea on the weekend for our friend Pip's birthday. It was so much fun designing the invitation and organising all the yummy food. Trudie did a lovely job decorating the table and hosting it at her amazing home.

I made smoked salmon, cream cheese and chive sandwiches and chocolate dipped strawberries, which Trudie asked I make after seeing the photos from my previous post on treats. They were also great to go with the champagne Trudie had bought.

Trudie made cucumber sandwiches with butter and she also added treats for the adults, more chocolate goodies and a yummy cake. There was also a homemade tea cake made by one of our other friends, but there are no photos as we ate it all before an image was taken! I will have to get the recipe for that one!

It was a fantastic morning as the children got to play and have their own tea party.

The view was spectacular and Trudie's interior design concepts are divine. They are just about to renovate their home and I cannot wait to see how it all comes together.

The high tea all came together just from a simple conversation about teas.... I wonder what Trudie and I will come up with next!
