sudo summer 2010

I love doing photo shoots with my little ones. There is a routine now. It is a little chaotic, but it seems to come together in the end. The main thing is they keep happy and we have a good time. We shot the Sudo range on monday and it was all over in 20 minutes.

There is a system. I style, shoot, Simon shoots, clothes on and off, kids model and they have a great time. There are moments when you think you will only have one good shot, but then when you load up the images they are all awesome in their own way. I even like the shots where it is more an outtake of our session.

Can you see the chaos? Lucky there is not another photographer taking sneaky shots as mummy is in the background throwing layers of clothes on the little ones.

The Sudo summer is in store now.

Those hot saltwater sandals at the end of my pegs are available in store now for women. Go on rock them!

the galleon in st kilda

You all know I love coffee. And that I have just come home from melbourne. I enjoyed a lot of different cafes while I was there. I have my favourite cafe in melbourne. This has been my favourite for about 8 years now. The Galleon, in St Kilda.

I have heard stories about broken hearts, uni days, and new found loves. This place to me is awesome, broken hearts and all. It is relaxed. Busy. Grungy, and it has great coffee and food. If you love porriage, then you will love Galleon porriage. That is what I had every morning the last time I stayed across the road from The Galleon.

I love the old furniture. It cries melbourne cafe. The one thing that I noticed that has gone since my last visit about 2 years a go is the old school sugar pots that were on the tables. They were cool. Maybe they were pinched. That is a lot of sugar pots in someone's home.

If you ever head to St Kilda while you are in melbourne, then pop on in to The Galleon, 9 Carlisle street. It is fun, little people friendly. Busy, and awesome people watching. You can then pop over to the markets! Now I am sounding like a tourism centre. It rocks!

melbourne street styling kicks

Melbourne has style. There is no doubt this is a stylish city full of awesome architecture, culture, and stylish threads. I noticed some really cool kicks when I was in Melbourne. (Kicks are shoes). It is all about the cool trainers. Bold colours, and all about the brand.

We could not walk out of Melbourne with the same kicks on our feet. We all bought a pair of high top connies. Silver. Navy. Dr Suess, think. Taj is not running his new kicks yet, but he has some rad adidas to work in.

I have an obsession with connies. I am not a heel girl. I love my saltwater sandals and I love my connies. That is me. That is my girl shoe obsession. I can happily say I have 5 pairs of low connies, and now my first pair of high tops. I have no doubt there will be more kicks added to my overflowing cupboard, but for now it will be another two colours in the saltwater sandals. (which I now stock in adults as well as little people. Pop on over to see my pegs).

Do you have a shoe obsession?

season changed with a dance

The weekend was the turn around. The sun was shining. The people were out. The lifeguards were on the beach. We were there to enjoy it all. We soaked up the sun and put more then our feet in the water. Oh yes, I went for a swim. This is unusual for me. I am a December swimmer. I swim when the water is a comfortable temperature and the air is warm enough to dry me off.

I felt liberated. I felt amazing. I did not feel cold. Taj came in with me, and he giggled the whole time. I am going to have fun trying to keep his ears from getting wet this summer. I have a water boy on my hands.

We built sandcastles, baked cakes, and we even had our own icecream palour. Their uncle made a funny face man, with eyebrows, seaweed as hair, and pebbles as teeth. This is the beginning of a long summer with our feet in the sand, salty bodies, and sand trampled through our home and car.

Keely and I danced. We danced for each other and it was beautiful to capture such a moment between us.

Love summer!

hello from taj

In an ideal blog world I would be sitting here typing a post more about my melbourne trip. But today I tell you about the fact I have my son sleeping on my lap which makes for a hard organised blog post. Yes truly this is last night and I am typing away. I cheat somewhat and write my blog posts the night before. They are hard to put together with the morning routine chaos.

Today I tell you that I think co sleeping rocks. I love the fact my son wants me to come to bed. Because I have business things to do he is laying asleep on my lap. I am sure soon we will turn in. There is only a matter of time and those eyes will flicker again.

It does get lonely sometimes at night, and when he calls for me at an early stage during the night I get a little excited to know I am going to have company. There is no conversation. Just cuddles. What more could a woman, or mum want?

Now he is awake blowing me kisses. I love being a mummy!

Next week Melbourne images.

Rittenhouse summer for little people

Life has been a little busy lately. Even when I was away on holidays it was busy. I love this time of the year when things around you get busier. People are out and about, they are busy in their lives, which in turn makes it busy in your own. I was going to write a bit more about Melbourne today, but I am so unorganised with a post on Melbs. Instead I will share with you the awesome images that we took yesterday of my little people in the Rittenhouse summer.

This label is divine. All Australian. Great colours. Stripes are this season and they are throughout the whole range. Love Rittenhouse.

sudo rocks melbourne

Second day in Melbs rocked. I have shortened Melbourne. I feel part of the community and part of a great city. It felt like home to me. I was actually very close to moving there over 9 years ago, but the Sydney job came through before the Melbourne one.

We all know Melbourne cries fashion and it also cries little people fashion. Sudo is a label I stock on the Little Pinwheel website and it is one of the first labels that ever said yes to me to have them on my website. If you read Shop 4 Kids magazine in Australia you would have seen an awesome article about him, his beautiful wife and the little people behind Sudo. I had never met Terry and he said I should pop in while I was in Melbourne to see behind the scenes. Love a behind the scenes tour!

Nat and her little Livvi came along early in the morning, and even before we had left the city my little people were sooking. They were hungry. They had only eaten porriage made with water. Have you ever tasted that after eating it cooked with milk? ewww! I could feel their hunger pains, and the need for mine and Nat's caffeine hit. Soy of course.

We did eventually get to the Sudo office, or more like the studio, and met Terry and a couple of the crew. Sudo is known for its fabrication and tailoring as Terry came from a women's wear background. You can honestly see pieces in his range you want made in your own size to put on you. It is hard to sell a label that pushes their awesome fabrics without feeling them yourself, but there is such a Sudo following there is no need for me to put a touch and feel element to the website. But that would rock! The love for this label is growing and will only become stronger as the years go on. Fashion is forever changing, be it big or little and Terry is on to it. He is a step ahead.

Oh yes and there are shoes for little people too. They are for your 4+ and there are high tops, low pros, ballet flats, (Keely's favourites), and now brogues are coming for next winter. Do not get me started on his denim for little people, or pants. He has the fits and styles perfected.

Day two continued with a trip to the city with the little people. We popped on a tram while Nat went off to work. This was fun. It was the beginning of many more tram hopping trips.
